Sunday Jazz Brunch At The Windsor Court Hotel New Orleans

In New Orleans there’s a saying called Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler, which means “Let The Good Times Roll”. Well, the beautiful birthday surprises from The Windsor Court Hotel here in New Orleans kept rolling in for me! The first surprise, was at their King Cake Tea. The second surprise came during their Sunday Jazz Brunch, in The Grill Room.

The Grill Room is a really beautiful place to dine. There are various sections. I had a chance to attend dinner there one evening and also their Jazz Brunch. Both times my mom and I were seated in the area shown above. For evening, the view was absolutely spectacular as we were sitting by the window. You get a lovely view of the hotel’s courtyard. You’ll see a bevy of spectacular luxury vehicles arriving and leaving. I even saw a Maserati. Where we sat during brunch was also nice. There’s gorgeous artwork displayed on the walls. Next time I go, I would love to see some of the other areas.

I found the picture below on the hotel’s Facebook page. It’s a picture of their private dining room. Can you imagine an engagement, baby shower, wedding rehearsal dinner, etc in this room? It looks absolutely charming! Just look at that gorgeous chandelier! Oh, the DREAM, WISH & DESIRE!!!

The menu at The Grill Room is A La Carte. You MUST order the Lobster Toast. Oh! It is SO GOOD! It is absolutely delicious. Their bread is superb. I ordered their crawfish & andouille omelet. My mom created her own omelet. We each had a side of potatoes and grits. The chocolate chip muffin and croissant went back to the room with us. Our food for both dinner and during the jazz brunch was really good. Now, are you ready for the SURPRISE!?!

All of a sudden, three men perched themselves behind me with instruments. It was the Christopher Kohl Jazz Trio. I wish you could’ve seen the shock & surprise on my face! They played an original version of Happy Birthday to me and then played a New Orleans jazzy second-line version of the song (see video below). I’m so glad I had my cell phone, to capture this moment. The Grill Room also decorated a plate with the words Happy Birthday in chocolate with two scrumptious beignets. They were so good! I would like to THANK both the Chris Kohl Trio and The Grill Room / Windsor Court Hotel for making my birthday so special. They’re absolutely amazing.
