Hard Rock Hotel And Casino Platinum Tower in Biloxi, Mississippi

A very special person in my life and I recently took a weekend getaway to Hard Rock Hotel And Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. I felt we both needed this trip. In September, I became completely distraught over my Cologuard result and was required to have a colonoscopy procedure. Although he is his own boss, his work life can be demanding and stressful. So we were both much in need of some fun & relaxation. I encourage him every once-in-awhile to take these kinds of breaks. Stepping away temporarily from your usual day-to-day routine, really helps you both mentally and physically.

I love Biloxi. It’s merely a one hour and thirty minute drive from New Orleans. I officially declare it my home away from home, whenever I want to get away. You’ve probably read posts about my stays at Beau Rivage Hotel & Casino (holidays, VIP Jasmine Suite, concerts). It was a beautiful day to travel and we enjoyed a lovely lunch at Beau Rivage’s buffet.

I’ve never stayed at Hard Rock Biloxi. I visited one time, while staying at Beau Rivage, when The Sugar Factory Biloxi had its Grand Opening in 2019. I was really impressed with all it had to offer and vowed to stay one day. Well, it happened!

Our accommodations were in the newer section of Hard Rock, called the Platinum Tower. It’s just a slightly longer walk to the casino & restaurants (but really not bad … plus I can use the exercise). The Royal Tower is closer to everything.

On our way to our room, there was a fabulous view of the pool area. Doesn’t it look like an oasis? Gorgeous palm trees, sun-kissed cabanas and check out that sunset. You can also see Beau Rivage in the far-right picture. That’s how close both hotels are to one another. I thought the view was so pretty. Very serene, peaceful and tranquil. Exactly what we needed.

The Platinum Tower accommodations are pure rock ‘n roll. I was tickled pink to see my name on the television screen.

The room contained a super long couch and comfy king-sized bed. I had to restrain myself from constantly pressing the button to raise and lower the shades. There are even black-out shades. The room also contains a deluxe mini-fridge.

Open the glass door and step into the bathroom. This bathroom has his & her sinks. As you can see, my side is filled with toiletries. HaHaHa The dual shower-head (regular and rain) was a joy to bathe in everyday. There’s also a private toilet.

While we’re on the subject of bathrooms. The bathroom mirrors in the casino area display Hard Rock advertisements. They’re like mini tvs. Wouldn’t it be nice to have one at home? Talk about prying someone away from the mirror.

The casino area is one floor. It may look small, but there’s a lot in this area to keep you entertained. There’s an assortment of slots and table games. Surrounding all of this, are restaurants such as The Sugar Factory (which pops at night), Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Half Shell Oyster House, Satisfaction Buffet (currently only open twice a month) and several bars.

Our very first night we dined at Half Shell Oyster House. They have a number of restaurants in Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana. We decided to dine at the location within the casino for convenience, but their nearest restaurant is literally just a couple of blocks from the actual hotel. The decor is really pretty. I love their sign. Beautiful chandeliers. Gorgeous mural that depicted many things from New Orleans. However, we both found their food to be just ok. We both expected more and were a little disappointed. All the food was presented beautifully. It just didn’t have the taste we expected. If I go again, I will definitely try one of their restaurants and let you guys know if the food is better there.

The following night we dined at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, which is located within Hard Rock Biloxi. He said, “Kim, everything is here. We don’t have to go anywhere”. I said, “That’s why I chose this place.” Reservations are required.

Did I fail to mention we were celebrating his birthday? You guys know I love birthdays. Even though this trip was not on his actual birthday, I told him he must celebrate his birthday the entire month. Ruth’s Chris was awesome! It’s a lot bigger than what I thought! It has several sections. We had a great spot that gave us a view of the casino-area action.

We ordered a bottle of Moscato (not pictured), salads and stuffed mushrooms. His salad was really, really, really good.

Our entrees included petite filet mignon, lobster for him, shrimp for me and two table-size portions of sauteed cream spinach and mashed potatoes. Everything came out sizzling hot. There was just one little hiccup. His lobster tail was salty. He had me try it and someone did use a little too much salt. It’s an expensive error for the customer. Hopefully corrected.

Our waitress was really cool. When I made reservations, I let them know it was his birthday. So she came out with a beautiful slice of chocolate cake with a candle atop and we sang Happy Birthday. I was videoing all of this and didn’t want to use his name (trying to keep his anonymity) HaHaHa, so she filled it in with HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. PRESIDENT. We all chuckled. She didn’t know it, but he is the president of his own company. It’s something to be admired, respected and is a very proud achievement. His lessons to me have been invaluable. I’ve learned so much and I tell him constantly how thankful God placed him in my life. He cuts me no slack and tells it like it is, for which I respect and appreciate.

On our last day in Biloxi, we went to a place called Patio 44 for brunch. It’s literally down the street (on Main Street) from Hard Rock Biloxi. I read some really good reviews about this restaurant. Reservations are required. It didn’t disappoint.

What didn’t we order? I ordered a mimosa. We both ordered fresh strawberry waffles and spinach & andouille omelets. Everything was DELICIOUS! I definitely want to go back. Our waiter was the best. He was so patient, kind and accommodating. A true gem. He’s a STAR in my book! I put together six videos of our wonderful experiences and will post them on my Instagram page. I’ll try to post one a day. I think you’ll find my song selection quite fun. Enjoy.
