Hard Rock Hotel And Casino Royal Tower in Biloxi, Mississippi

Last October, I planned and enjoyed a weekend getaway at Hard Rock Hotel And Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. It was my first time going, so there was a lot to explore. I was unable to experience everything I wanted to do during that short time. So I decided to book a week-long birthday trip with my mom and do some things I was unable to do, during the first trip.

Our first stop was to Beau Rivage Resort & Casino for lunch. They had these amazing Lunar New Year decoration displays scattered throughout the hotel. I really loved this dragon head and the colorful flowers that surrounded its face.

The overall atmosphere of the hotel was festive. Red lanterns were afloat, gracing the ceilings. Trees were colorfully lit. Can you spot the Buddha in the second picture? There was also an abundance of red flowers and gold coins. It really put a smile on my face. FYI – If you’ve visited this hotel before, please know The Terrace Cafe is now called The Atrium Cafe.

We decided to eat at Beau Rivage’s Buffet. Lunch was really delicious. Below is my mom. Doesn’t she look good? She’s 74. We started off with boiled shrimp, gumbo and potato salad. We then delighted in the buffet’s other offerings.

When booking our reservations at Hard Rock Biloxi, I decided to stay at The Royal Tower. I stayed at The Platinum Tower (newer) the last time. It’s very nice, but from the reservation’s desk you have to walk up a ramp to the elevators and then to your room. I didn’t want my mom doing all of that, so I felt staying at The Royal Tower would be best, plus I was curious. The elevators for this section of the hotel are near everything (reservation’s desk, casino and restaurants).

We really enjoyed our room and all its cool touches. Each pillowcase was graced with an embroidered guitar. The queen size beds were super comfy. There was a flat-screen television, mini-fridge, long eating/writing ledge and bar-stool chairs in our room (not pictured). Do you like my Rolling Stones t-shirt? I’ve had it for years. I thought it would be befitting.

The bathroom was also super cool. You may be wondering (as I initially did), if the bathroom is an open area? Only the double-sink area is adjacent to the beds. There’s a sliding door that gives you privacy for shower and toilet-use. How cool is the toilet tissue? B-Sides. Back sides. For those that don’t know, vinyl records (45s) always had a popular song-side and then a not-so-popular side (B-Side). You can read more about it here. It’s cool how they incorporated that into the decor.

If you have dirty laundry (laundry bag), you can put it in their dirty deeds bag. How cheeky cool is that?

I loved the shower, because it had THREE shower heads. I love a powerful shower head! All are not the same. A rain shower-head is so calming and therapeutic. It’s really relaxing to the body. This shower also had a built in shower bench.

So we relaxed, figured out everything in our room and got ready for dinner. Instagram Reel.

Our dinner reservations were at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, located within the hotel. I really enjoyed the food the last time I was there. This time it was my birthday (I turned 51), so I decided to celebrate my special day by eating there again.

There were a couple of dishes that I couldn’t try the last time (one can only eat so much), that I was curious about. One, were their crab cakes. You guys, lump crab meat is the best. These came out sizzling hot and were so delicious.

Last time, I had their filet mignon w/shrimp, which was very good. But let me suggest their rib-eye steak. So tender. So juicy. Absolutely amazing. I couldn’t eat all of mine, so our waitress wrapped it in foil. I refrigerated it the two nights we stayed here, two nights at the other hotel and one night at home. I put it in the oven to heat and it tasted just as good (and was just as tender) as the first night they served it. Their mashed potatoes and creamed spinach are also really good.

For dessert, our waitress brought out this cool platter, that had a round cheesecake (birthday candle atop), with an assortment of fresh fruit (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries) and the words Happy Birthday written in chocolate. It was so pretty to look at and so sweet. I made a wish and blew out the candle. Instagram Reel.

The next morning, my mom and I had breakfast at The Sugar Factory. I attended The Sugar Factory opening in 2019. I enjoyed lunch there (you have to see that post). I’ve always been curious about their breakfast’s. It didn’t disappoint!

Can we first talk about the decor? I’ve always been smitten with the chandeliers in this place. Don’t they look like diamonds? Their interior designer, did a great job. I love the floors, chairs and leather seating. But, yes there’s a but …

You’re unable to see it in these pictures, but there were some patches on the leather seating. When the restaurant sent me a review, I told them about it. The restaurant is too lovely for patches. It takes away from its beauty and should be resolved. I also explained, it was Valentine’s Day and there was nothing Valentine-ish for breakfast. Hopefully, they will consider and make some changes. What I did love were the pink napkins. I thought they were cute. I want pink napkins.

I love mimosas for breakfast or brunch. As you know, they are almost always made with orange juice. This one was made with pineapple juice. It definitely put a different spin on the drink. It was delicious. Very light and refreshing.

For breakfast I had their veggie omelette, toast, hash browns and grits. My mom and I also shared some pancakes. They were HUGE! Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from their breakfast. It was REALLY delicious. Kudos to the cook! There’s nothing better than when a restaurant exceeds your expectations. I then explored their candy store.

I was super tempted to get a birthday girl wine glass, but I resisted. HaHaHa

I did walk away with a bag of tootsie rolls. Aren’t they the best? They’re great whenever you want a taste of chocolate.

They also have an assortment of other candy delights. Let me recommend their chocolate pecan turtles! Instagram Reel.

One of the restaurants I didn’t get to last October was Hard Rock Cafe. I didn’t think much of it, because I went to a couple of their cafes before and they were just ok. Well the one in Biloxi, made me have a change of heart.

Our waiter was Brandon, and he was the absolute best. I was interested in their wings, but had a slight concern. I asked point blank, was the sauce dark or orange? He giggled and said dark. He knew what I was talking about. HaHaHa I do not like wings with that orange sauce. I think he knew then, he was in for a doozy of an evening. I was taught to always ask. If you don’t, how will you know? You’ll get stuck with something you don’t want! HaHaHa In life, ask about anything you are concerned about. If you don’t, it might be a waste of your time and money. Their bone-in wings are SO DELICIOUS!

Another entree you have to order is their catfish and shrimp platter. Their catfish is so good! I also had a bowl of their gumbo. The seafood in Biloxi is always fresh. The cooks in Biloxi are just really great cooks. You’ll love their food.

Last but not least, since I was celebrating my birthday that week, Brandon brought out a hot fudge sundae brownie. He was so sweet. It was warm and gooey … complete with a cherry on top and chocolate sprinkles. I really enjoyed myself while dining there. It was fun looking at and listening to my favorite 80’s songs and videos. The atmosphere was festive and fun. They also have some impressive memorabilia. The people were really nice as well. Instagram Reel.

While staying at Hard Rock Hotel And Casino, I also did a little gambling. I love the $1 slot machines. I’ve never played in the High Limit Area, but it’s definitely a dream, wish and desire of mine in the future. My favorite games are Top Dollar and Pinball. I think they’re so much fun and even more so when they PAY. HaHaHa Lady luck was definitely on my side.

While I played, I sipped on a strawberry daiquiri (Hard Rock’s drinks are really good, and they serve their drinks in real glassware … that’s impressive to me), with whipped cream and cherry a top of course and played to my heart’s content.

I was a WINNER! That’s the way I felt during my entire stay. It was relaxing. It was fun. I had a great time. I completed everything I wanted to do here and was ready to go on to my next curiosity Island View Casino & Resort in Gulfport, MS.
