The Reef Biloxi | Biloxi, Mississippi

I celebrated my birthday, by spending a week along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Royal Tower in Biloxi, MS for two nights, fulfilling some wishes I didn’t have a chance to do last October. The next place on my birthday agenda, was to drive to Gulfport, MS and stay at the Island View Casino & Resort, which is less than 30 minutes away. Well, I heard about this excellent seafood restaurant, which happens to be between these two places on Beach Boulevard. I told my mom, we have to check it out. It’s called The Reef Biloxi Restaurant.

As you approach the restaurant, the first thing that will catch your eye is the beautiful mural that wraps around the building. It’s truly magnificent. You’ll see an assortment of sharks, dolphins, stingrays, oysters, turtles etc. Above is a snapshot of it all. To enter the restaurant, you can either take the steps or there is a convenient elevator to whisk you away. Then you must decide whether you would like to sit inside or outside. We chose inside for our first time.

This restaurant is known for their superb seafood and souvenir character cups. So when the waitress asked if I would like a mocktail, I said most definitely and put it in a souvenir cup. The most requested character is the shark head. However the day I went, they were all out. So Mr Alligator would have to do. At least his toothy grin is not as fierce as the shark.

For my mocktail, I chose The Biloxi Vice! What is that you ask? It is blended strawberry, pina colada, mango and ice cream. How tropical and delicious does that sound? It is so good you guys! I highly recommend you get one.

So now it was time to order. I wanted everything on The Reef Biloxi’s menu.

For appetizers, we ordered their Banging Biloxi Beach Gumbo, which has shrimp, okra, sausage and rice. We also ordered a dozen of their Chargrilled New Orleans Style Oysters. We have some really good food in New Orleans, so when I tell you that these two appetizers equal and surpass some of the restaurants in New Orleans … that should tell you a lot. Both were really delicious. I was super impressed. I could just sit and eat their appetizers all day. HaHaHa

For our entrees, I ordered the Creole Coastal Pasta. This pasta contains shrimp, crawfish, and smoked sausage in a Monica cream sauce over pasta. My mom ordered their catfish and shrimp Beach Basket. Both were fresh and delicious. We were so full when we left. HaHaHa I can’t wait to go back! I’m going to eat here every time I visit the Mississippi Gulf Coast and I encourage you to as well. This restaurant is fun, enjoyable and has a plentiful assortment of great tasting food.

Here’s an Instagram Reel of my experience.
