Super Bowl LVI Sunday Funday

Do you love football? Both sides of my family were HUGE football fans. My late grandfather, who was a high school math, science & english teacher, also coached football, basketball and track. He cheered on and chewed out the New Orleans Saints every Sunday. My mom, who is a retired educator, was a high school cheerleader. She follows all of the NFL games throughout the entire football season. My late father, who was a history teacher, played high school football. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. My late uncle, who was a US Air Force veteran and commercial pilot, loved the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers. My late aunt & her husband were Cincinnati Bengal enthusiasts. They sported the latest Bengal sports gear, had Bengal home decor, hosted football parties and were season ticket holders. They would be so happy to know, that Cincinnati is in the Super Bowl! I love Joe Burrow and Odell Beckham Jr. (LA Rams).

What about me you ask? Despite all of the above, I’ve never been really big on football (I’ve currently taken more of an interest in soccer and following its league’s path to the FIFA World Cup). I’ll watch football, enjoy the game, but I don’t start really paying attention until the playoffs. That’s when I start party-planning. I enjoy decorating and putting together intimate festive events. I list what I’m going to drink & eat on Super Bowl Sunday, start looking to see who will be the entertainment for halftime (it’s all about that California Love this year), who is going to sing the national anthem (my favorite is still Whitney Houston) and look forward to seeing all of the expensive commercials that will be aired.

So you guys, this is my Super Bowl LVI food table spread. It includes pizza, wings, chips & dip, chicken tenders, popcorn, fish & chips and gumbo. I didn’t have to do a thing this year, because everything was ordered via room service (where am I? I’ll link soon). It was a splurge, but the food is delicious! Do you like my festive football table set up? I got everything from Party City. They came out with some really cute things this year. My favorites are the football cups, “who won the commercial bowl?” themed napkins, game time & touchdown plates and referee shirt platter with whistle.

I’ve got my Sunday Funday cap on, along with my party dot shorts. I love this cap! It’s secondhand. I haphazardly ran across it on eBay, looking for something else. It’s pink & brown. What attracted me to it was the color and also the tasty, frothy-looking root beer float design atop the hat. I looked at the inside label, and it’s from a company called Kbethos Vintage. I just went to their website and they have some really cute hats. Well you guys, I’ve got my snacks, I’m comfortable, relaxed and ready to watch some football! Good luck to both teams! Have fun and enjoy your evening!
